This month we celebrate the 24th anniversary of Executive Order 13166, “Improving Access to Services for Persons with Limited English Proficiency,”
Executive Order 13166, signed in the year 2000 by former president Bill Clinton, specifically mandated that all healthcare institutions that receive federal funding must provide interpreters for LEP patients. This means that anyone that accepts Medicaid is held to these standards.
